Some 90 Day Fiancé fans are opposing TLC moving its new shows to Discovery Plus and Angela Deem posting about Bares All triggered her IG followers.
The world of reality TV wasn’t new for Angela Deem before she became one of the biggest stars of 90 Day Fiancé. All thanks to her family feuds, Angela had previously been featured on the likes of Maury and Trisha. But it was with 90 Day Fiancé featuring her relationship with Michael Illesanmi where she struck gold to become a household name. Now, while a thankful Angela has been busy promoting the launch of Discovery Plus, many fans have been attacking her for supporting TLC’s “selfish and greedy” move.
When season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days had its launch in August 2019, little did anyone expect that debutant couple Michael and Angela would see the popularity they have today. Amidst fears of getting scammed, Hazehurst granny Angela set out to Nigeria to meet her online lover Michael, and what followed was a series of disasters and multiple break-ups. Still, the silver lining was when Michael and Angela got married on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? and their tumultuous story is now available for all to see on Discovery Plus. But all’s not well in the 90 Day Fiancé fandom, with viewers complaining about the streaming service and its new spin-offs. At times, it’s the Discovery Plus ticker on the screen during 90 Day Fiancé season 8 airtime that’s boring the viewers, and mostly, having to pay extra to watch the Tell-All upgrade 90 Day Bares All. And unfortunately, Angela, who happened to post about Discovery Plus on her Instagram, was in the line of fire to face the wrath of angry 90 Day Fiancé fans.

While sharing an Instagram photo of Shaun Robinson, host of 90 Day Bares All where Angela is a guest, she posted the details about Discovery Plus bringing “all your favorite shows together in one place.” The first episode which premiered earlier this week had Angela commenting on a very risqué scene of 90 Day Fiancé season 8 couple Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina hooking up on the screen. Shaun hilariously added that Brandon was getting “Ang-bushed” when Angie showed up to give the Dinwiddie guy some naughty, yet, motherly advice. However, it doesn’t appear that 90 Day Fiancé fans are interested in paying to watch Angela do her x-rated talk on the streaming portal.
“Fun to watch but not if I have to pay an additional cost,” wrote a frustrated 90 Day Fiancé viewer on Angela’s post, while another one added, “I don’t want to have to pay. This is silly.” A different commentator simply suggested that they “can’t afford it,” and an angered Angela follower booed her, and wrote, “a lot of nerve to ask for MORE money during the pandemic.” Another common complaint on 90 Day Fiancé celeb Angela’s post seems to be from non-American fans, especially Canadians who wish to stream the shows but can’t due to the non-availability of the Discovery Plus content in their country. “I’d pay for it but Canada doesn’t get it,” a TLC viewer added with a sad emoji.
But most anger over TLC’s decision of shifting 90 Day Fiancé’s new spin-offs to Discovery Plus seems to have stemmed from the fact that it costs $5 per month with ads or $7 a month without advertising. Will the 90 Day Fiancé franchise reconsider lowering the costs for its content, or perhaps, also releasing it on TV where it’s easily accessible for all to see? Perhaps Angela can use her influence to share her Instagram fans’ concerns.
