The 1993 movie has a cast with future stars like Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich and Matthew McConaughey, with the latter first coining his iconic catchphrase “Alright, alright, alright” in the movie. It’s a cult classic now and Linklater followed up with the romance Before Sunrise. This 1995 drama starred Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, with the movie spawning two sequels; 2004’s Before Sunset and 2013’s Before Midnight. It appears a new chapter in the franchise happens every nine years, so it will be interesting to see if another movie arrives in 2022.
