Colt Johnson may be the most disliked cast member from 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? Does he have redeeming qualities that often get ignored?
The former 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Colt Johnson is considered by many to be the most controversial cast member in the franchise. He has been called a “Narcissist,” “Gaslighter,” and “Biggest creep of 2020.” However, on second thought, maybe he doesn’t seem SO bad. For example, it’s pleasant to see him caring for (and living with) his mother, Debbie Johnson. He sticks by his mom even though he realizes that she interferes in his romantic relationships.
Many viewers first met Colt when he appeared on 90 Day Fiancé season 6, alongside his ex-wife, Larissa Dos Santos Lima. The couple got engaged in Mexico, started the K-1 visa process, and within no time flat, got married. They wed in June 2018. However, the Brazilian beauty was disappointed to discover that Colt couldn’t fulfill her dream of living a luxurious life. Colt wasn’t a millionaire. Eventually, the couple began arguing, which led to verbal abuse and physical fights.

When the cops were involved, they found out that the scratches on Larissa’s face were self-inflicted (via TMZ), and she was determined to be the aggressor in the fight. Even though there was no evidence, the Las Vegas native was trashed by many for being violent. Still, he didn’t hold any grudge against his ex. In fact, he wished her well when she started dating her now-ex-boyfriend, Eric Nichols. During the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 5 Tell-All, Colt said that the 34-year-old former TLC star looked happy with Eric and that they were perfect for each other. He added, “And I hope you both continue and live a happy life together.” Still, he was wrong to cheat on his 26-year-old girlfriend, Jess Caroline. He was sending his explicit pictures to other women when he was in an on-again, off-again relationship with her.
Did he send those pictures only because he wasn’t receiving affection and being appreciated in his relationship? He was planning to come clean to Jess; it’s just that she already knew the truth. Certain fans give the 35-year-old reality TV star points for owning up to his mistake. During the Tell-All, he admitted that he cheated on Jess and was sorry for his actions. He had the option of denying all of the cheating allegations, but he didn’t. He was ready to take the heat on social media.
Colt’s best attribute is probably his concern for his mom. Colt understands that Debbie Johnson loves him a lot, and knows it would be difficult for her to be on her own at this age. So, he makes her his priority and sacrifices things to make her feel comfortable. However, he did show an evolved side by the end of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 5. He changed his mama’s boy image and had a tough conversation with Debbie. Colt told her to stop interfering in his romantic relationship. Maybe he’ll find a way to balance his love for his mom with his own romantic needs. That would be an improvement.
