The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards revealed her daughter Sophia also tested positive for COVID-19 after her own diagnosis.
Amid news of Kyle Richards’ COVID-19 diagnosis, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has revealed that her teenage daughter, Sophia, also tested positive for the virus. This comes as production for the show was halted after members of the cast and crew contracted the airborne virus.
Season 11 of RHOBH has already been rocked, and not by the usual drama and catfights. A few weeks ago, it was revealed that filming was put on pause after a member of the crew tested positive for COVID-19. At the time, the cast reportedly had to quarantine for 14 days as a result of the diagnosis. However, the following week, Garcelle Beauvais revealed “a few people” actually caught the virus, and not just a crew member. Shortly after that, word spread that Kyle, her sister Kathy Hilton, and Dorit Kemsley all tested positive for the virus. Production confirmed that, while the ladies did not contract the virus on set, filming would not resume until after the New Year.

Over the weekend, Kyle took to Instagram to share an update with fans on her battle with the virus. “I love these people so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Some of you may have heard I have COVID. I got it after these photos were taken,” she captioned her family’s Christmas photo on Saturday. She went on to reveal that one of her daughters joined her in isolating after she also contracted the virus. “Since I was diagnosed I have been separated from my family in order to keep them healthy. Unfortunately, Sophia also got it. We will stay in isolation until it’s safe to see the family and others again. I can’t wait to hug them,” the Bravo star said. The photo showed Kyle and her husband Mauricio Umansky, along with their four daughters, Farrah, 32, Alexia, 24, Sophia, 20, and Portia, 12. See the post below:
Kyle first hinted at her illness on Thanksgiving, when she took to her Instagram Story to reveal that she was “not feeling well” and was unable to cook a meal for her family. Recently terminated housewife Teddi Mellencamp was nice enough to bring her family some food. On Tuesday, Garcelle let the cat out of the bag while speaking on The Real and told her co-hosts that “a few people on our crew tested positive for COVID.” She explained why she has “been isolated,” and went on to detail all the precautions producers were taking prior to the positive cases. “We’ve done the right thing, we get tested so many times.”
In addition, the cast was required to “do all the protocols. We get tested at least three times a week, we get tested before we shoot, my kids get tested, I get tested — anybody who’s in my household.” However, unfortunately, filming has been shut down. Along with Garcelle and Kyle, returning housewives include Lisa Rinna, Dorit Kemsley, and Erika Jayne. Newcomer Crystal Kung Minkoff is also on board, along with Kyle’s sister and the new friend of the housewives, Kathy Hilton.
