Former The Bachelor contestant Bekah Martinez is weighing in on Clare Crawley and Dale Moss’ whirlwind engagement on The Bachelorette.

Fans may remember Bekah from when she competed for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s heart on The Bachelor season 22. At the time, Bekah was 22 years old, which made her one of the youngest contestants to compete on the show. She made it all the way to week seven before being sent home. Now, Bekah is a mom of two and in a happy relationship with her boyfriend, Grayston Leonard.

In an interview with Us Weekly, the mom of two opened up about her thoughts on Clare Crawley and Dale Moss quitting The Bachelorette and getting engaged right away. Bekah is happy for the newly-engaged couple, but she also wondered if they were forced to get engaged at the end in order to exit the series. “ It was just so obvious as a viewer at the very end that the two of them were almost coerced into getting engaged,” the 25-year-old told the publication. “It seems like they really love each other, but that was bizarre, and I would be really upset as a lead.” The mother of two believes Clare was pushed out of the show by producers in order to make room for the new Bachelorette lead Tayshia Adams. Rumor has it, Tayshia was at the resort well before Clare decided Dale was the one for her. “I would be pretty pissed off. I would be like, ‘You sort of shorted me of a season that was supposed to be mine,’” Bekah continued. “But I have to give it to Clare, because I think that she really was there for the right reasons.” Bekah added that even though she thinks Clare was tricked into leaving the show early, she does see the love Clare and Dale share for each other.

Back in March, Clare Crawley was announced as the lead of The Bachelorette season 16. However, her time was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Filming then began at the La Quinta Resort & Club in July, but Clare left the show after falling in love with her 32-year-old fiancé in just a few days. Unlike Clare and Dale, Bekah did not find love on The Bachelor, but she did find someone off the show. Bekah and her boyfriend, Grayston, fell in love shortly after she was eliminated from the show. Over a year after her season premiered, the couple welcomed their first child. They also had another baby in 2020.

It is safe to say Bekah is not happy with the way Clare abruptly left the show. In her eyes, producers tricked Clare into feeling a certain way too soon into filming.
