Meanwhile, How I Met Your Mother reigns as one of the most quotable sitcoms of the past several decades. Premiering in 2005 and running for nine seasons, How I Met Your Mother focuses on Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) as he recounts his journey to meeting his wife to his children. Ted’s stories revolve around his failed relationships and his group of friends before culminating in how he met the mysterious titular mother, who is only seen in the final season. How I Met Your Mother‘s series finale proved incredibly controversial among fans and is often seen as one of the worst of all time, largely because of how it undid much of what came before.

Marvel Studios’ Director of Visual Development, Andy Park, had a guest stint on How I Met Your Mother as a background customer at MacLaren’s, the central group’s favorite spot. In honor of the anniversary of his acting debut, Park shared a poster he designed for the How I Met Your Mother cast, in which they’re all transformed into Marvel heroes. Radnor, armed with the show’s infamous yellow umbrella, becomes Wolverine, while Cobie Smulders is, fittingly, Robin Sparkles in a costume similar to Captain Marvel’s original comics looks. Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segel are Black Widow and the Hulk, respectively, and Neil Patrick Harris assumes the role of a laser tag-ready Thor. Check it out below.

Interestingly, one of the above cast members already has a role within the MCU. Ever since 2012’s The Avengers, Smulders has appeared in various Marvel projects as SHIELD agent Maria Hill. Most recently, she was seen in Spider-Man: Far From Home, though the end-credits scene revealed it wasn’t Maria at all, but a Skrull. It remains to be seen if she will return to the MCU in the future.

Nevertheless, this is a fun piece of crossover art, and one filled with plenty of little details that are sure to amuse How I Met Your Mother fans. It’s clear Park is a big fan of the show, making it extra special that he was invited to appear on it. Fans can now look out for him whenever they watch the final season of the show, as he revealed he was on the episode “Rehearsal Dinner”. Better keep your eyes peeled!
