Jack Black dances and performs tricks in a Spider-Man costume in a funny clip created for his popular YouTube channel, JablinskiGames.
Actor Jack Black recently shared a funny video of himself in a Spider-Man suit. One of Hollywood’s most established comedians, Black is well-known for his work in movies like High Fidelity, School of Rock, and Nacho Libre. He’s also an accomplished voice actor, especially in kid’s films like Ice Age, Shark Tale, and the Kung Fu Panda franchise. More recently, Black has been a part of the new Jumanji movies, appearing as Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon opposite Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan.
Since December 2018, Black has devoted time to his YouTube channel, JablinskiGames, which has close to 5 million subscribers. Though Black has spoken about his desire to retire soon, his channel shows no signs of slowing down. On JablinskiGames, Black regularly posts gaming and vlog-style content, often with celebrity guests. The channel is popular among both Black fans and gamers, as well as those who enjoy his work with Kyle Gass on Tenacious D, their comedy rock collaboration.
This week, Black posted the humorous Spider-Man clip on Instagram, where it served as a teaser for a video on his channel titled “Tony Hawk & Steve-o CHALLENGED ME! (PS5 vs XBOX).” In the teaser, Black dances and does tricks in an impressively realistic Spider-Man suit. Check out the video below:
Black isn’t the first actor to don a superhero costume this week. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor Jeff Ward recently starred in a funny Batman parody titled Fund the Bat, where Bruce Wayne is forced to trade in his Batmobile for a more sensible model. Ward’s video encouraged donations to the MPTF’s Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund, which helps those in Hollywood out of work due to the pandemic. Black used his platform in a similar way over the summer, posting a hilarious superhero PSA encouraging people to “Be A Hero” and wear a facemask.
Though Black’s Spider-Man video has a different goal in mind, his content on both YouTube and elsewhere on social media has provided an enjoyable distraction for many during COVID-19. Comedy has become an even more essential tool than usual this year, and comedians like Black have stepped up in a big way. His newest video is not only hilarious, but also impressively put together, especially the wall crawl to the roof. The clip also shows Black’s commitment to a bit, which makes the whole thing that much funnier. All told, the humorous Spider-Man video is inline with what fans have come to expect from Black.
