Ed Jokes On IG About Becoming Dad After ‘Man Child’ Punishment

Ed Waisbrot takes to Instagram to joke about being named the “Man Child” after losing The Bachelorette group date competition to Bennett Jordan.

The Bachelorette’s Ed Waisbrot jokes a lot about his time on the show on his Instagram page. Since he first rolled into the resort in a giant plastic bubble, Ed hadn’t received much screen time. He seemed to avoid drama and the show focused mostly on Clare Crawley and Dale Moss’s relationship, so Ed wasn’t anywhere to be seen most episodes. He was likely one of the guys fans just realized existed last week.

Ed acknowledged this lack of screen time on his Instagram the day after the U.S. presidential election, joking, “This is the face of a man patiently waiting- waiting for the outcome of the election, waiting for a shot at love 🌹, and waiting to see if I get some freakin’ screen time this Thursday night at 8 PM ET on @bacheloretteabc.” The accompanying picture showed Ed on the Miami Beach, looking bored out into the distance. But Ed’s come a long way from lack of screen time, with this past week’s episode centering entirely around himself and Chasen Nick.

During that episode, Ed was chosen to be part of the group date, during which Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon would proclaim which of the men were “Grown Ass Men” and which man was a “Man Child.” The contestants went through a series of challenges, including a written test, a physical challenge, and a breakfast in bed competition. Although fan-favorite and Harvard graduate Bennett Jordan lost all challenges except for the final, he was crowned a “Grown Man,” while Ed was deemed the “Man Child.” After Ed was forced to carry a baby doll around for the rest of the episode, he turned to his Instagram, @ed.waisbrot to make a joke. Ed captioned an image of him giving Tayshia a shirt that said “#1 Dad” while he held the baby: “Dale leaves engaged 💍, I leave a dad…things move fast on @bacheloretteabc, can’t wait for everyone to meet my 👶.”

As Ed continued to carry the baby around, he also decided to start a feud with Chasen. Ed claimed Chasen had been insincere because he called both Clare and Tayshia “Smokeshows.” After the initial accusation, the conflict seemed to escalate, with Ed bringing it to Tayshia’s attention. After Tayshia and Chasen spoke, the fight continued to be brought up. Soon, all of the guys were fighting and Bennett took the baby doll to shield it from the arguments. Ed even covered the baby doll’s ears to protect its innocence as fans began to take sides: Chasen or Ed. Who is the new villain? While the guys and the fans were focused on the fight, Noah Erb was busy wow-ing Tayshia by allowing her to shave off his mustache.

Although Ed and Chasen received roses and secured air time in next week’s episode, only time will tell if the feud will continue and what the baby doll will think of it all.
