It appears 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Sumit isn’t ready to get hitched to his girlfriend, Jenny. Fans think he is trying to stall the wedding.
Many 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans have noticed Sumit Singh seems to be stalling his wedding with Jenny Slatten. He didn’t even appear happy after finding out he can get married to Jenny in a temple, and his parents can’t object. Now, many fans are convinced he doesn’t want to tie the knot after all.
When Sumit finally divorced his ex-wife, it looked like viewers were going to see him and Jenny married. But the Delhi native has expressed a sudden 180-degree turn in his intentions. Jenny is worried her tourist visa, which forces her to leave the country every six months, will soon expire and she will have to leave Sumit again. Plus, due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions, it isn’t certain she will be allowed to fly back to India. While the Palm Springs native is visibly anxious and eager to tie the knot, her boyfriend looks unenthusiastic about getting hitched. He is making excuses and seemingly trying to delay the whole process. In the recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, the couple meets a marriage lawyer, who first tells them Sumit’s parents can legally object to their marriage if they go by “Special Marriage Act.” However, the lawyer suggests they instead wed in an “Arya Samaj” temple, which would be simpler and faster, especially since Sumit’s parents can’t object. The lawyer explained, “You can get married anytime. If you want to get married tomorrow or today, you can.“

Unfortunately, the 32-year-old Indian didn’t look excited and insisted he wants to have his parents’ blessing, who have repeatedly said “no” to his marriage with Jenny. Many 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans think Sumit is probably having cold feet or doesn’t want to commit to Jenny anymore. A Reddit user said Sumit wanted Jenny when he was getting out of his troubled marriage. “But now that he can marry Jenny, he doesn’t seem to want to,” they explained. Plus, check out this tweet from a fan who feels Sumit always knew about the other marriage, and didn’t tell Jenny on purpose:
Another fan wrote Sumit liked “the natural wall in their relationship when he was dealing with his divorce or when it seemed his parents’ disapproval could torpedo the whole thing.” Now, when there are no roadblocks, the reality has hit him in the face. Somebody said that after spending time with Jenny amid the coronavirus pandemic, it “may have given him some insight into her health and aging.”
Other fans think the TLC star will not sever ties with his family. Eventually, he will compromise and leave Jenny. A viewer commented, “Sumit probably realizes that cutting off his parents/family for good and living a completely separate life is not feasible in his culture.” Still, the couple’s social media pictures suggest they are still together in India, so maybe things do work out for them.
