The 1.1 update in Genshin Impact brings new features such as the City Reputation system. It comes with great rewards but needs to be unlocked first.
At long last, the much-anticipated update 1.1 has arrived for Genshin Impact. This update has added many new features to the game such as new story content, new playable characters, new events, etc. The update appropriately came out on 11/11 which, fun fact: was the same day that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim released 9 years earlier.
One of the things that came with the new update was the City Reputation system. This new feature allows players to build up an association with the two major cities in the game: Mondstadt and Liyue. As the game continues to expand, hopefully, new cities will be added as well.
Increasing City Reputation in Genshin Impact
To begin gaining City Reputation, players will need to advance to Adventure Rank 25. If players are not at that point yet and want to level their Adventure Rank quickly, they should focus on completing quests. Quests can give players a significant amount of XP and plus sometimes they also have nice items as well.
Once players have reached Adventure Rank 25, the next step is to complete the corresponding quest in each city. For this, they will need to do the Archon Quests, which features the adventures of the Traveler and their emergency food. Once these have been done, players need to talk to specific NPCs to unlock City Reputation. In Mondstadt, players will talk to Hertha. For Liyue, players must speak to Ms. Yu. Both will be marked with upward-pointing triangles on the map and can be found within the bounds of their cities.
There are a variety of ways to increase City Reputation, and if players wish to swiftly rank up, they will want to use all available methods. There are several quests that players can complete within each region, and they all count towards increasing City Reputation. Also, players can increase City Reputation just by exploring and opening new areas. It needs to be done eventually anyway, and unlocking waypoints make fast-travel easier, so players should not skip out on this.
The next methods to increase City Reputation are bounties and requests, both of which can be done three times per week. Yes, it might be annoying to be limited in this manner, which is why players should focus on these first, and then work on the side quests and exploration. Increasing the ranks in City Reputation has some great rewards such as blueprints, recipes, and even gliders. Each city has independent rewards as well, so be sure to work on the City Reputation for both Mondstadt and Liyue.
