There are four suit upgrades for players to find in Pikmin 3 Deluxe. One of these, the Metal Suit Z, adds a sizeable boost to all captains’ defenses.
Because there are many different kinds of enemies in Pikmin 3 Deluxe who have various powers related to the environment, players may want to upgrade the three captains’ gear to help them survive against even the toughest bosses. In Pikmin 3 Deluxe, players control three captains as they search a mysterious planet called PNF-404 for food they can bring back to their homeworld, which is suffering from a famine. Along the way, the player will collect small, plant-like alien creatures with special abilities that relate to the environment. These alien creatures are called Pikmin, and they can help the players solve puzzles, fight enemies, and collect food and other resources. As players adventure around PNF-404, they will find four optional suit upgrades to help them better prepare for fights.

Players can find Metal Suit Z around the middle of the game after they have unlocked captain Brittany and the Tropical Wilds area of PNF-404. This upgrade will increase the durability of each captain’s spacesuit, which translates to a significant defensive boost. To find it, players are going to need to fix the white tile bridge near the landing site in the Tropical Wilds and throw their Pikmin friends onto a ledge to grab it. Here’s how to get the Metal Suit Z suit upgrade in Pikmin 3 Deluxe.
Find the Metal Suit Z Upgrade in Pikmin 3 Deluxe
To reach the capsule containing the Metal Suit Z suit upgrade, players will need to travel to the Tropical Wilds. From the landing site, they will need to travel up the path to the left of the ships until they come across the white mosaic tile bridge. If they haven’t already, they will need to finish constructing it to unlock access to the new area.
Once the bridge is completed, players should cross it with their Pikmin friends. Next to the clover patch and Pellet Posies, players will come to a ledge that appears to lead to another path. They will need to toss a few Pikmin up to this ledge and continue down that path. They will find the capsule containing the upgrade to the left, about halfway down the path.
Once more, players will want to toss a Pikmin or several up to the capsule and have them carry it down. Some players choose to use Winged Pikmin for this one, as they can easily fly to get onto ledges. The player can then lead the Pikmin back to the ship and analyze the Metal Suit Z upgrade.
It’s always a good idea to be careful of obstacles and enemies along the way. There are Hermit Crawmads in this area, along with a few other creatures looking for a fight. As with most upgrades, the Metal Suit Z Upgrade is completely optional and could be missed if players aren’t looking for it. Still, it is nice to collect and can make facing enemies just a little bit easier.
